If something is badly wrong with your pet right now, do not fill in a form. Call us, tell us what you are seeing, and start driving — we will talk you through what to do on the way.
Also call straight away for bleeding that will not stop with pressure, an eye that is suddenly cloudy, bulging or painful, or a scorpion or snake sting — and for a swallowed object, even if your pet seems fine.

Heatstroke: what to do in the first five minutes
Here it can happen on a short walk at the wrong hour, or in a car in minutes. What you do before you reach us changes the outcome.
01Get out of the heatInto shade or an air-conditioned car immediately. Car AC on full, aimed at them.
02Cool water, not icePour or hose cool — not ice-cold — water over the body, especially the belly, armpits and groin. Ice and ice baths constrict the blood vessels and slow cooling down.
03Air movementA fan or the car vents on wet fur. Evaporation is what actually pulls the heat out.
04No wet towels laid over themA towel draped on top traps heat against the body. Wet the animal, not a blanket.
05Offer water, never force itSmall amounts if they want it. Never pour water into the mouth of a pet that is not fully conscious.
06Call us and driveCool on the way — do not wait until they look better. Heatstroke damage continues internally after the temperature comes down.
Flat-faced breeds — Persians, Pugs, Bulldogs, Shih Tzus — overheat far faster and deteriorate far quicker. With those breeds, treat panting that will not settle as an emergency straight away.
Common poisonings we see
Bring the packet, the plant or a photo of it with you. Knowing exactly what and how much saves us an hour of guessing.
Chocolate & xylitolDark chocolate is the worst. Xylitol, in sugar-free gum and some peanut butters, drops blood sugar dangerously fast.
Dog flea product on a catPermethrin is in many dog spot-ons and is toxic to cats. Tremors and seizures follow. This one is a true emergency.
Rat bait & antifreezeBoth look harmless for hours, then are very hard to reverse. Do not wait for symptoms with either.
Scorpions & snakesMore common here than owners expect, especially on desert-edge walks and in villa gardens at night.
Do notNever make your pet vomit unless a vet has told you to on that call. With some substances bringing it back up causes far more damage on the way, and with a drowsy animal it risks choking.
What happens when you arrive
So you know what to expect at the worst possible moment to be surprised by anything.
01You call aheadEven two minutes of warning matters. We prepare oxygen, fluids and a table before you arrive, and we tell you what to do on the way.
02Triage on arrivalThe sickest animal is seen first, not the first to arrive. If your pet is stable you may wait while a critical case is stabilised — we will tell you honestly what is happening.
03Stabilise firstOxygen, pain relief, fluids and warmth come before diagnostics. Making your pet comfortable and safe is the first job, always.
04Then we talkOnce your pet is stable we explain what we have found, what we recommend, and what it costs — before we go further. You are never billed for a decision you did not make.
No car, or no one to drive?
We can come and collect them.
Our own vehicle runs across Ajman, Dubai and Sharjah. For a critical case we will usually tell you to come straight in if there is any way you can — minutes matter more than comfort. But if there is genuinely no way for you to travel, say so on the call and we will arrange it.
An emergency is the start of the story, not the end of it. Everything your pet needs next is in the same building, under the same team — no referral, no repeating the history to a stranger.
No. Call and come. Ringing first means we can prepare for your pet and start advising you while you are still on the road, but never delay leaving in order to reach us first.
Are you really open at 3am?
We answer the phone around the clock and attend genuine emergencies outside normal hours in Ajman, Dubai and Sharjah.
What does an emergency visit cost?
Emergency and out-of-hours attendance carries an additional charge over a routine consultation. We tell you the figure on the phone or at triage — and as with everything here, you pay at the end, not before we start.
I cannot drive. Can you collect my pet?
Often, yes. Our own vehicle covers Ajman, Dubai and Sharjah. For a critical case we will usually tell you to come straight in if you possibly can, because minutes matter more than comfort — but if there is genuinely no way for you to travel, call and say so immediately.
My pet ate something and seems completely fine.
Call anyway. Several of the worst poisonings — xylitol, antifreeze, rat bait, permethrin on cats — look fine for hours before they become dangerous. Bring the packet with you if you have it.
I found an injured street cat or dog.
Call us.
Call. We will pick up.
Tell us what you are seeing and roughly where you are. We will tell you whether to leave now, and what to do while you travel.
